Pumpkin Pie Spice

At this time of the year, it seems everyone in the food blogging world is crazy about pumpkin. With good reason, I must say, as who can resist pumpkin and spices mixed into some sort of fabulous baked good? When browsing through recipes, it seems that a lot of recipes call for pumpkin pie spice. Now if you’re like me, you don’t have much room for another spice jar crammed into your already overflowing cabinet. Plus, why pay for another spice mix when you most likely have all the ingredients already. Pumpkin pie spice is simple to mix together, and will definitely come in handy this season with the abundance of pumpkin recipes that I have on my to-make list.

Pumpkin Pie Spice
Yields: About 7 tablespoons

Ingredients:
1/4 cup ground cinnamon
2 tbsp ground ginger
2 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp ground nutmeg

Directions:
Mix all spices together, and use in place of pumpkin pie spice in your favorite recipes.

I usually purchase pre-mixed pumpkin pie spice, but I would love to make my own. This is really helpful, thank you!

  2. Great recipe – I always throw my own together. Seems like a waste to buy the premade stuff when I have all the contents in my cupboard all ready.
